The bunkhouse accommodation was formerly a skittle alley, reputed to be the longest alley in the Forest of Dean. It was built at the turn of the last century and was used as a rifle range for the home guard during the second world war. It is situated at the back of the Jovial Colliers Inn and opens out onto a large pub garden with a paved patio area and picnic tables.
The skittle alley was recently renovated and converted into bunkhouse accommodation comprising of four bedrooms which sleeps up to 21 people.
Each room has bunk beds with fitted sheets and a pillow but you will need to provide your own sleeping bag or duvet and a towel. There are separate gents and ladies washrooms with running hot water and two shower rooms with hair/body wash soap dispensers. Kettles, mugs and hair-dryers are provided but you will need to bring your tea and coffee (We can provide these for a very small extra cost). Although there is not a fridge available each room has a cool box with ice blocks. If you should forget your sleeping bag/duvet or towel we can let you borrow a duvet at a charge of £2.00 and a towel at a charge of £1.00.
There are no cooking facilities in the bunkhouse but a full English cooked breakfast is included in the price, in addition to this we also provide reasonably priced pub food with a few "specials" for group booking. See the menu options for more details.
Safe storage is available for bikes or anything of value, we also provide drying facilities if you get wet on your adventures.
